The Lodge at Osprey Lodge in Alaska
O
SPREY LODGE
, in its alpine setting, offers many of the conveniences not often found in the Alaska Bush. Small comfortable cabins surround the lodge with several spike camps set up in the immediate area. Transportation to the spike camps is in a Piper Super Cub equipped with special large tundra tires. Spike camps are checked frequently by aircraft (weather permitting). If game has moved away from a spike camp, the hunter is also moved. THE HUNTER IS NOT SIMPLY DROPPED OFF. There is no charge for this change of camp. The lodge itself sets on a privately owned airstrip surrounded by eighty (80) acres of private land homesteaded in the early 70's. The main lodge has its own diesel generator, wood-fired sauna and modern plumbing. A chef is on staff and the menu superb. Included at the main lodge is a meat house and a large walk-in freezer. Experienced guides, employed by Osprey Lodge, work hard to make each hunt successful, keeping in mind the hunter's safety and comfort. Personnel are CPR trained and medi-vac service is available. Lodge-owned aircraft (and pilots) are always available at the lodge.
